Yeah, because my hometown is right in the path of totality, hotels were gone ages ago. I've heard that there are people coming all the way from Japan to stay in Gallatin and neighboring towns. I'm not even sure there are homes available to rent anymore (Home Away and things like that); some cousins of mine own a farm with a huge A-frame lodge that gets rented out for functions all the time, they said places like that were also snapped up ages ago.

It is incredibly fortunate that all I have to do is go back to my parents' house

Yeah, its going to be nuts in Nashville. Pretty happy ill just be able to wander outside to my deck and get just under 2 minutes of totality. Put a nice 3 hours lunch on my calendar so i can enjoy it. Hoping for clear skies.

The red marker is my parent's house on our farm. Blue line is the path of the eclipse. I think it's going to be pretty awesome :pint:

Oddly enough I'll be back home in St. Louis during this event. Supposed to be some good long darkness around them parts.

I'm taking the kids to Charleston for the big event. I'm hoping the glasses arrive before we leave.

I'll be in Nashville on the grounds at Bicentennial park by the capitol with two extra pairs of glasses if anybody needs some and wants to meet me out there and probably put up with my fudge for a few hours...

$75 each  (not really - you can have them)

Loved The Grilled Cheeserie, DeSano's for pizza, Favorite BBQ was Martin's, Downtown-The Stillery, favorite coffee was Three Brothers, hiking close to the city-Radnor Lake and Percy Warner: if you go take a drive down Belle Meade Blvd to see some insane old money mansions

I'm sure Baker has many more :pint:

Grilled cheeserie is good. Don't go to the Phamacy. It's all hype. Five Daughters Bakery...best cronut ever.

My office is having an eclipse party so we will see how that works. We don't work in the best part of town so side bet of a stabbing while everyone is outside, looking up, mouth agape.
