Love my Paperwhite. Definitely easy on the eyes, and great since I travel and work remotely quite a bit, so it makes my load just a little bit lighter. There are still some books I just have to have physical copies of though. Plus the battery is AMAZING.
Currently reading, Graven Images: The Best in Horror, Fantasy, and Science Fiction Film Art
Excellent image quality, and a load of knowledge, and anecdotal chapter forwards by a ton of different folks. My favorite is the foreword to the 30's by Ray Bradbury, which details his adventures with childhood pal, Ray Harryhausen.

just finished up "Ready, Player One" and really enjoyed it..never been a big gamer, but I liked the pop culture references and look forward to seeing Spielberg's film next spring
It's a great read. I was a bit disappointed by his follow up, Armada.jlabbate wrote:just finished up "Ready, Player One" and really enjoyed it..never been a big gamer, but I liked the pop culture references and look forward to seeing Spielberg's film next spring

Looks like Spielberg captured the obnoxious tone of the book and it's author from that trailer.

Currently reading George Harrison's I, ME, MINE: EXTENDED EDITION
Still plugging away with the Wheel of Time series. Just about finished with Winter's Heart (book 9). Hope to finish the series by the end of the year

Loved RPO, super fun, have not read Armada, but have seen others' comment similarly on it. Would you care to expound?hunterjax wrote:It's a great read. Also, in the middle of this, I love it, but I'm a Mignola and Golden fan.
That Joe Golem book is on my list.
On Armada . . . tough to expound without spoiling the book, but basically, if you read the synopsis on the cover and think "this sounds just like a cult 80s movie I saw" . . . well, it is. Just like it.
I kept waiting for a twist or some big reveal, but it was exactly what I expected it to be before reading it. It wasn't necessarily bad, just seemed a bit lazy and completely telegraphed.

Ahhh, makes total sense, just got done reading this and felt the exact same way (but it was still fun...and nothing more).hunterjax wrote:That Joe Golem book is on my list.

Right, and the author totally acknowledges the reference in the book, I think I was just expecting a lot more after originality.

Perhaps a dumb Paperwhite question:
So you pay more for a unit without ads, which = 'special offers'?

YES. I do like the book a lot but it is HELLA OBNOXIOUS. I kind of hate most of the characters. So many douches.wonkabars7 wrote:Looks like Spielberg captured the obnoxious tone of the book and it's author from that trailer.
This will make a much better movie than book.
