Just busted out a couple miles in the floody rain to keep the streak alive. Approaching 500 days but gonna have to get through more rain and 8 days of Fantastic Fest in the final stretch.

I need to get back on the horse. I’ll be okay working out and running.... but it’s the meals throughout the day that slow me down.

I can only have chicken and rice for dinner so many times until you get fed up with it. What are some other ideas for healthy dinners? My wife is a tad picky, so nothing crazy. Same thing for lunch... I am from Philly so hoagies are a killer for me.

Ok consider myself in good shape, workout regularly but no gym rat. Have a great setup in garage heavy bags, pull-up bars suspention bands, bench etc... also can do a respectable amount of chin-ups, pull-ups... but at the playground with the family I went to do the monkeybars....WTF, there goes my American Ninja Warrior dreams. That fudge was tough.

3 Rounds rest 1-2 minutes after each round:
10 DB Rows Each Hand kneeling on bench
15 Push-ups
8 Single Leg Deadlifts each leg
25 Mountain Climbers each leg
3 Rounds of :
15 Side plank hip ups each side
25 bicycle crunches each side
10 Mins AMRAP
Row for 10 calories
8 Burpees
5 Chin ups
Ended up doing 3 rounds.

Nice workout but 5 chinups = not making it across the monkey bars :)

I started crossfit about 1.5 months ago and couldn't be happier with the results - I am ecstatic. Lifting at my local gym was just getting uninspired and plain boring. Started to slack that last year and a half, just maintaining muscle and that's pretty much it. Crossfit has been a godsend. It's challenging, motivating, and gets you through the week at a relatively fast rate because you always have something fun to look forward to. Some of the workouts are brutal, but the hardest part (which isn't hard at all) is showing up. Once you show up, you get through it and you feel like a million dollars after the workout. I never played high-school/college sports, just dabbled in intramurals, etc. but for the first time in my life I actually feel like I'm building athleticism. If you're skeptical about joining a crossfit gym I highly recommend doing some research and finding a good local gym and stop by for a trial workout, etc. There's definitely a lot of hype surrounding it but it's well worth it. Everyone is extremely supportive and friendly regardless of your skill-set/athletic background.

Finished the Chicago marathon in 4:09:50. That was the hardest thing ever. I thought the final 3 miles were going to kill me. So sore and so happy!

Yes, major congrats on the marathon!

I got really out of exercising over the summer (and put on like 20 pounds to show for it) - got back to eating healthy about two months ago, and back to riding most mornings last month, and am back down to my goal weight! It feels great to be getting out on the bike again as well.

Speed bag recommendation. I am looking for a quality speed bag. I've gone through a couple, most recently an Everlast and they keep popping. I've used a Title and one other in the past but they always seem to eventually give out. I use it weekly as I walk by in the garage with workouts on it on average about two times a week. Want something that will last. Thanks.
