Make sure the USPS agent ATTACHES the Customs Form to the tube when shipping overseas. What a drymounting pain in the ass

Attach your own damn custom form. Dunno why ya would let them do anything other than scan the tube and put it in the bin.

drymount off... I'm learning. Baby steps

Honestly, I've only shipped a few prints overseas in the last decade. But for the last, they've put an extra wrap of tape over the paperwork and everything was easy peasy. This time it landed in Paris sans paperwork. Everything worked out fine in the end, including the USPS refund, but like I said, I'm learning.

was gonna say, anytime i ship intl, i print the label online. print out the sheets, put them in the clear adhesive pocket, and attach them to the tube/triangle. cant say i would trust a postal worker to do the labor for me.

^ now that’s a bit disrespectful to the postal workers. Blue said they have to take a test before getting the job!

It's crazy to think that when I bought my first prints back in 2010, one could pickup decent 2-3 color posters for $25 with a $8-$9 shipping charge. These days...the cost of shipping a 30" tube, (considering tube cost, printing, packaging supplies costs), estimated shipping alone is close to $25.

$25? what calculator are you using for that math?

Okay, I used a fairly high priced example print to calculate, but still...

To ship a 30" x 4" tube $550/insurance cost aprox $15.98
(I'm in AZ and the destination used to calculate in this example is in Orange County, CA)

15.98 with 3.9% increase cost aprox $16.60
tubes cost around $3.00

That comes to $19.60 and doesn't include costs for labels, ink, tape, kraft/tissue paper, etc. So, yeah the cost for shipping is getting up there. It doesn't matter, really, since I rarely ship these days.

cross country a 2lb tube without extra insurance is $10. NY to LA or visa versa.

It doesn’t really matter to you but you just felt the need to explain the horror of inflation to the masses?

I know. I don't usually post such things. Bad day, I guess.

So if a seller says they shipped last Wednesday and it is not scanned at the counter, how long should it take for some sort of scan to hit the USPS site??
