Seeing a species of bird for the first time. This spring/summer has been excellent for new-to-me species with the most recent being an Eastern Kingbird

The kestrel is one of North Americas smallest and most colorful falcons. There is one currently in rehabilitation at Tucson Wildlife Center while recovering from singed wing feathers, the cause still unknown.

We have a few Kestrels living around our property and they are a favorite. Seeing them in pursuit of other birds in the yard is pretty cool.

I just read that it's a five hour dive through 2.5 miles of flooded cave to the kids location. I wonder how the divers do that? How do they transport that many extra tanks on their dive - the tanks hold about an hour worth of air, right?

Drinking a Sierra pale whilst sitting in Squaw creek today. Does not get much better. drymounting Lake Tahoe is amaaaaazing. Sorry guys, this thread will be my vacation blog for the next couple weeks.
