My shower in the Pub has been up the creek for the last 8 days and was fixed today , so its going to a luxury to not have to get dressed as soon as I get up to go over my house to bathe before my day starts.

Surprising how you take the little things in life for granted.

Is this something British that I don't understand?

I'm British and can't really understand that.

OK, so he sleeps "in the Pub," but that is not his home. His home has a bath but not a shower, and the Pub that he sleeps at has a shower that was broken for eight days but now is fixed? So now he doesn't have to go home after waking up in the pub to bathe before starting the day.

He has a home, but stays in a public house? I think that is where the confusion is.

Someone please verify this because it will remain in my subconscious wreaking havoc until sense is made of it.
