Maybe!

He's a trooper. Got chipped, had 3 "shark" teeth removed and got his beans removed all in the same day. He's doing really good though. He's such a good boy.

Dexter is starting to show his age (9). He's developed degenerative nerves in his back legs, especially his left one. He might have chronic colitis...we've had 2 really bad bouts of him having uncontrollable liquid diarrhea that prescription food and antibiotics fixed the first time but we're still dealing with the second time. He's obviously uncomfortable and we have to lock him in the kitchen at night or when we leave otherwise he'll ruin the apartment. Hopefully he gets back on track ASAP and it's nothing serious (we also have considered that it might be his prostate). The saddest part during all of this is he still wants to play all the time and refuses to accept that he isn't a puppy anymore. Here he is deciding that the cat's new bed is actually his.

He is super cute. I really hope he gets better. Does it seem like the mobility of his rear legs is getting worse?

Oh definitely. We originally took him to the vet over the summer when I noticed he was skipping with his back left leg when he was walking. Our vet did a bunch of hands-on tests and said he wasn't in any pain and it was likely just his nerves degenerating. You can tell sometimes when I'll tug on his leash or when he goes to chase the cat that his legs don't get the signals as quickly as the rest of his body. Vet said the best thing for him is to keep using his legs and go about business as usual but even just in the last month or so I can see him taking the stairs up a bit slower...he's just getting old but he doesn't feel like it. It's a blessing and a curse...I'm glad he still feels young and will play like a puppy at the drop of a hat, but I also have to limit him out of fear that he'll hurt himself. Still wouldn't trade it for anything in the world though.
