Ok, water on mars (an excellent Dr. Who ep BTW), meaning a better possibility of life on mars. Say we find microbial life, how do you think we should study it? Do you think we risk bringing it back to earth at some point/somehow? I mean the bird flu was bad enough, but the mars flu could be the end. Not that I entirely believe that, but the possibility still exists that it could the microbe that brings on the zombie apocalypse (95% joking there).
and
Does this change anything in the plans for people visiting mars? Assuming life of some sort is found on mars how do we guarantee a returning astronaut isn't harboring an alien chestburster?

Now, obviously, I am speaking in hyperbole here, but does this change your attitude/thoughts towards deeper space exploration or is it no guts, no glory in your mind?

Discuss.

The good thing about Mars is that there's hardly any vegetation or animals for us to drymount it up, so that's a bonus.

I say, build a moonbase and then deal with the microbial life there if need be. We at least know that people can get to the moon and exist on there for periods of time. The first thing though is actually getting stuff back from Mars - all we've done is shoot stuff out into space and do drive-by's. We haven't actually brought anything back from the deep darkness of space yet.

Actually now that I think about it, we sent that vehicle with the aerogel thru the tail of a comet and just let it fall back to earth. Kinda of cavalier attitude considering we really had no idea what would be returned.

Quit throwing money at antioxidants!
http://www.nature.com/articles/srep03169
In conclusion, our results provide a compelling explanation for the well-documented results of clinical trials that increases in lung and skin cancers were associated with antioxidants. We have clearly demonstrated the importance and the genotoxic and mutagenic effects of a previously unrecognized reductive damaging mechanism in cellular processes. Our results strongly suggest that cancer and many other human diseases are more likely caused by reductive damage than oxidative damage to DNA and the cell.
