I love it, but then again it is about the best whiskey I've found to pair with fine tobacco, like Peter Stokkebye's.
I don't know how it works with "factory-made" cigarettes, but I'd think it's about the same.
They use 2 to 4 year barrels for that blend.

Diamond Peak, made with only the 4 year and older barrels, is smoother and sweeter. It has a similar overall flavor profile to their "regular" but just less of it, with a few more different flavors coming in.
They must be doing something right - every year locals line up for hours for the vaunted Snowflake release.

I am going to go ahead and grab the DP. Thx for the info.

It is a 1 liter Japanese export bottled in 1992. I have had a 1991. Better than any Pappy I have ever had, stuff is incredible.

Only the limited dumb-luck lotteries are restricted to Pa residents.
If you can get to a store in Pa or have someone here pick up for you, it's fine for things like this release (and the Michter's 10Year Bourbon for $122)
You can even enter a specific person's name for the pickup.

That Michter's 10 is money.

They have so many offerings I really don't try to keep up. I love the shelf stuff and Small Batch.... but really interested in trying to LE Small Batch from '16 I am sitting on.

It's 100% up to your personal taste when you're comparing between several really good ones.
I've had an OBSF for Pa's release #6 (11 years,119 proof), and I think it was my favorite one of the first few.

One of 'em (The OBSF) 12 years old, which is at the extreme upper range for these selections.
It's also exactly 100 Proof, which is about beyond the lower range for them.

The other two are a couple years younger, but at a higher proof.
I find I typically prefer higher-proof whiskies.

I havent had a bad bottle of 4R ever. But of the Private Barrels I prefer the OE-- stuff myself. I have had excellent OESO's and excellent OESV's before.

Honestly I had a OESK once and for some reason it just didn't suit me. It wasn't bad but was just extremely spicey for an OE barrel.
