That list is woefully incomplete and half the entries are just regular Brooklyn pie with different exotic toppings.

grandpa
buffalo style
NEPA

Just to name a few.

And a drymounting calzone and stromboli are NOT types of pizza! :hanging:

Not quite. While I've never had true Sicilian or Sicilian style pizza, my understanding is that it is rectangular, but it doesn't necessarily have that beautiful burnt crust around the edges, which is a result of the blue steel pans Detroit style pizza is cooked in.

Barry's calls their Detroit style pizza 'Sicilian' style because it opened years ago before Detroit style was a known, trendy thing outside of Detroit. Barry's from the D though and has a stash of the blue steel pans.

Get that tuna and sweet corn fudge outta here. Tuna, corn, red onion and cheddar? How does that even qualify as pizza? :vomit:

What the actual drymount? I thought you were the EB pizza guy? You're seriously missing out brother.

It was fantastic but not as good cold because of the thick crust. But the burnt cheese around the outside is phenomenal.

Need some recommendations for the best spot in Manhattan for a plain cheese slices. So far, Pizza Suprema is the best I've had but I gotta assume there is something better...

You talking about the place near MSG?

That is very very Ok, Manhattan is a sizable place. Any area you'll be in specifically?

Correct, I've been surprised how much I enjoy their slices.

I typically stay in Midtown, although I'm in Lower Manhattan this time around. Honestly, anywhere below Harlem is fine with me, whether they deliver or I need to travel to it. I've tried Joe's Pizza, Baker's Pizza, Underground Pizza (decent, but rarely go over near Wall Street), and a couple other places that were forgettable.

Gotham Pizza is a good spot and they have a few locations, including one not too far from Suprema. I don't like Suprema as the sauce is too sweet for me but YMMV obviously.

Lower Manhattan along that stretch of Bleecker on the other side where the original Joe's is (You may have gone to the 14th street shop) I like Bleecker Street pizza more, John's is kind of a landmark too I guess. Keste is good for a bit more traditional Neapolitan.

Grimaldi's has an outpost in the Limelight. I like their White slices. Prince Street pizza is something worth the time to get there to try, more bakery style pizza's but very nice.

If you end up anywhere in the Upper West Side (Above 79th street) Caesar's Palace Pizza is a bit deceiving as it's kinda dingy inside but they serve larger, very good slices at a nice price for NYC.
