Why cant people just buy art that they like. I might not like the way he works but i like some of the prints he puts out. LIB, waldo, kids kissing, max spray, 33rd street, le bistro and many other are hacks? Really? Ya some of his stuff looks very similar to other but whose arent. Last time i remember Fairey had a lawsuit against him for copying someones shit. Does he design all his work....Why do people seek out threads like this to talk shit about an artist or the people who buy it. Last i checked there were several others that are perfect for your comment. This one not so much. What do i know though i havent been here as long as you. Congrats on your 41st post though.
first off... have you seen this documentary? go watch it. and if you still feel the same way about him then go ahead and keep on supporting a no talent HACK! and disregard my post because it was not for you. my post was for a discerning community of collectors who actually give a shit which artists they support. if you will read my post i said that i recommend people watch the movie and see who the person is that they are calling an artist and make their own decision about whether or not they feel comfortable about buying something from an "artist" who has actually hired other graphic designers to "create" his pieces since day one. now i know that fairey does the same thing but he has already put in his time.
and there may be other hacks out there but i haven't seen any of there documentaries. i saw this one.
and yes its only my 41st post but i only post if i have something to say not just when i get an idea for a response on a subject that i don't understand. check my join date kid. I was in this game 18 years before you got your first Dave Matthews poster.
