I just opened my AE. I received it Friday w/a huge dent in the tube but since I was heading out of town I decided to wait until I got home to deal w/it. Thank you Emek & Ronni. You guys choose to tape the rolls narrower than the tube. So I received a mint print :D YEAH!!! And thanks again to my PB for helping me out. The detailing is really something to behold

Absolutely. Although Mitch at P & T denies this and is a packing master. :notworthy:

I've had many many prints arrive with dented tubes over the years.
Some were saved by the shipper rolling the art to a smaller diameter than the tube.
I've never had one saved that was hugging the inside walls of the tube. The dent transfers directly to the art.

Of course, thin walled tubes get dented at a far higher rate than medium and mediums get dented at a far higher rate than thick.
I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.

I wonder why Mitch would decline? Surely not the time & effort & cost of the tape. It's a mystery

There's just no possible response from the other camp that refutes this fact, well put. Game over: rolled smaller wins every time.
it was standard operating procedure until Obey started taping the roll smaller a couple years back in response to the number of prints lost to UPS on a weekly basis. now it's how most of us roll...as it were.

While we're on the topic. Rolling the print smaller than the tube also creates shifting of the print I would assume?

Am I way off, or is there a preferred method to close the end of the roll to prevent slippage?

If there's room @ the end of the tube simply pad the end of the tube w/something to keep the roll from traveling back n forth

Was it ever explained why on the night of the drop there was no international sales allowed?....did they ever drop?

With a fudge or bust decision in front of me i clicked the "buy usa" button Emek and Ronni honoured it and ive now got mine , but i bet there were quite a few European/Aussie buyers that were left in the lurch?
