He marked up a copy for me; I'll always treasure it; lots of Beatles lyrics, etc... he calls it "remarqued", from the circa 1900 Paris era.

I always defer to someone who's wearing a beater, regardless of what else he's wearing.

I've got all kinds of 1-off sweetness from CP. The Gordon/Kottke has never been one of my favorites, but he's got a ton of great images. You're probably aware of the Phish Utah buffalo image; he snapped pics at the Golden Gate Park buffalo enclosure for that one (I have those photos). And the Phish NYE Miami gala image with the pink flamingos in tux's and other birds in front of the theater. Check out his site petersonland.com.

I just wish he did screenprints; everything I know of his is litho (which stands to reason since he has done so many BGF/BGP posters). I do have an original painting and a charcoal chalk original.

All kidding aside, that Utah is one of my favorite Phish posters.

They're a Band Beyond Description, like Jehovah's Favorite Choir.

I know offsets get dissed a lot because they don't have the "gravitas" of the screenprints,
but there are so many great images out there, and you can collect on the cheap. I have
no problem with someone collecting posters on a budget.

Heck, the New Fillmore series is up over a thousand now. Moonalice is catching up fast.

Plus it's a payday for a lot of artists who also do screenprints. For a working artist, you've
gotta pay the bills. Commissions for offsets and a big part of their bread & butter.

Good point, Marty. I may have sounded uppity when I said 'offset', but I guess I prefer the extra richness of the screenprint process. That's not to say I don't own a ton of offsets. If I love the image, I'll buy the art, regardless of how it's made.

I love the screenprints just like everyone else. Who doesn't dig a small-run,handmade piece
of craftsmanship with the artist's fingerprints on it?

A lot of very cool work is produced as offset prints, and a lot of effort goes into them. I think
they should at least get their proper due.

Nah, you never come off as uppity Rick. I know you get it.
