Still kicking myself for missing this one. It kept coming up on the "can't believe this is still available" and I kept putting it off. :cry:

Picked up #92 instead. It's much smaller but still pretty impressive; the black is so fantastically deep that the interplay between dark and light is incredible. This thing is going to look great in a black box frame with a bright white mat to contrast the darkness.

For the Amory fans. An oil on wood work of his is coming up for silent bidding tonight at 6pm-11:30pm, 1.5 hrs from now at Shooting gallery in SF. The piece is title "Waiting Study #112 12"x12". If you would like further info feel free to PM me.

It was at $1k 30 min before the end. I wish I'd known about this before and couldve figured out how much I could actually afford.

I bid $815 at 6 pm (when the bidding opened), and had every intention of calling back a few minutes before the end of the auction and upping my bid if needed. This study may well be my favorite of all the Amory pieces I've seen, and that's saying a lot. Sadly, i fell asleep and woke up about an hour after the auction closed. I am royally bummed ...

I bid $850 at 6:15 then proceded to throw a house party. I'm surprised the guy who picked up the phone at 1:40am was actually able to understand me. This was definitely a great study, really wish I'd won it.
