Complements the shiny metallics. Check out Tetsuo's sparkly red cape on the bottom left of these comparison photos. Halfway down the page.
Also, here is the alternate color scheme that was scrapped. I think it would have been awesome.

Wow. That's pretty amazing. What could have been.

Finally picked up an Akira reg! Big thanks to member Ulrick for the reasonable sale. Can't wait to get it framed.
Can now sleep at night with the comfort of knowing it's no longer haunting my ebay saved searches. Also congrats to Otomo on his acquired print!

Just finished putting this together. This is my first time double matting and I think it turned out well. The frame's nothing special, although the colors work and it was only about $100 total with UV reflective acrylic plus acid free boards. I'm still in college and don't want to go all out on the framing just yet until I own my first place. Anyway this is just a quick frame up to see how it looked, still need to flatten the print out for a few more weeks. Still amazed how much the red pops, such tantalizing eye-candy. Thanks again to member Ulrick for the sale and to member Otomochaser for keeping the Akira fandom strong.

I got this guy framed.. While it was in flat storage it just looked humdrum, but framed it's absolutely stunning. Unreal.

Video detail of the variant. You can see how the metallic red on the metallic gold can sometimes not show up in camera depending on the light angle.

What makes this official as opposed to, say, the new Man Tsun Tsang EXPLODE?
