depends on the size and if it's a painting on wood or a drawing on paper but the originals vary from about $1500-15,000.

How so ?? The last time editions (that I took part in) were for an hour .. and it was for two prints and BOTH runs ran up around 1,250 each .. Now granted I know open means always printing .. but what if they get 5,000 orders ?? Sure its a limited run .. But of 5,000 prints ?!? or even 3,000 ?? Thats no longer limited and that is mass produced .. and although not strictly an "open edition" but damn close IMHO.

Really? You think that it will be that low? I think if they can sell ~2,500 prints in 1 hr .. I would think a 24 hr window would be at least that much if not a lot more.

Still a limited edition and I don't care if they end up selling 100,000.... Because I'll have one.

Thats just a matter of semantics.. There comes a point when a print run gets to be so large that its damn near the same thing as an open edition. I mean honestly .. would someone even print 3,000-5,000 giclees for a "true" open edition???

EDIT ..
Im not knocking this run .. I just made a comment about how many prints there will be .. Im glad that everyone who wants one can get one .. and by definition it is a limited edition .. But come on 100,000?? There comes a point that its no longer "limited" and thats all Im saying that when a print run reaches a certain point .. its not really "limited" anymore.

100,000 would basically mean one person for every 68,000 could have one. Still limited. :pint:

Why so low? Image not appealing to everyone? They mentionned the fan base might have doubled up in the past year.. that combined with the 24 hour window instead of an hour and I'm not sure how anyone could explain a guess below at least 1.5x-2x the run of the most recent timed sales.
