Update: February 1, 2024: EB Art of the Year Fiasco and New Team Members
What category should a video game poster be in? Should we lump video games in with movies? Seems similar enough. Or maybe they need their own category.
Seems like official and non official movie posters should have their own categories. The clearance official ones need really can be restrictive to the artist.
So we need 5 categories?
Gig poster
Movie poster
Art print
Video Game and other non movie/gig poster
unofficial underground private commissioned movie poster

it won in the category for which it qualified - Art Print of the Year.
it didn't qualify for the other category which it won - Poster of the Year. the Poster Class is for pieces that promote an event, or series of events. While the bulk of these pieces are gigposters, other pieces (e.g. artist gallery show, political rally, etc.) could qualify. A rule of thumb is that these pieces have a date on them.

That's weird, so art prints can have text on them. So a video game poster is in the same category as a giclee of a painting with no lettering?
Seems like on facebook an art print has no lettering/text.
How does EB define an art print?

- the Cinema Class is for pieces that promote a movie/film and include movie credits - "one-sheets."
- the Art Print Class is EB's catch-all. The other two Classes are specific carve-outs.

You heard it here. Cinema posters have credits on them.
