Re: AFRO-PUNK (Will I Live Tomorrow?) 09 Jermaine
I just picked up a copy of this print from afro-punk's website for $35 + $5 s/h. It's only signed in the plate, and it's not numbered, but it's a bit different, and IMHO a better image, than the s/n version. In the afro-punk version, Jimi's t-shirt is a pale turquoise, his guitar is a flourescent gr...

Re: Foo Dog 09 Pollock
I met Jim at his Bonnaroo tent over the weekend. What a nice guy. If I understood him correctly, the idea for the print was to bring light on the fact that the Chinese are financially bailing the world out of this current no-borders economic collapse. The obviously Chinese Foo Dog is sitting with th...

Re: White Stripes Toronto 07 Print Mafia
Thanks for the excellent history on this poster set. A VERY loose association thought just hit me regarding the tie-in of the history to the band... JACK White... Union JACK... Hmmm.

Red hair... red hair.
Have I seen re-haired women in any other Malleus posters?

Re: Brant Bjork Zondag BEL 04 Malleus
My Bjork Soho just arrived from Italy. It is on thick, cream-colored stock and it does look/feel a bit like vellum. It's definitely flay rather than glossy. The printing on the bottom line says "1st Reprint 2006", rather than 2nd edition. Is this different than those who commented above, or am I say...

Re: Radiohead Bristow 08 Slater
LOL! Good point on the free downloadability of the initial release of In Rainbows. Maybe that's where the 0's and 1's come from. It just immediately struck me that it was a reference to OK Computer; I could be wrong... but it would make sense either way. I've seen many, many poster artists make refe...

Re: Colour Haze Leuven 06 Malleus
Yes. Those are good too (especially because of the split fountain color change on those being top to bottom on the one and bottom to top on the other), but I like these better because of the red/blue color scheme. The only thing missing on these that were intergral to lots of late 60's bay area psyc...

Re: Radiohead Bristow 08 Slater
There was a mention or two about the border of this poster relating to IN RAINBOWS, but it boggles my mind that there was absolutely no mention of OK COMPUTER. Seeing as the entire image is made up of 0's and 1's (except for the asterisks in the text), this seems very strange to me. It begs the ques...

Re: Colour Haze Leuven 06 Malleus
These 2 posters together create a very Victor-Moscoco look. If done right (and I think these are), the concept of the multi-poster image is worth focusing some attention in anyone's collection. Can anyone say Grateful Dead backstage pass puzzle?

Re: Brant Bjork Zondag BEL 04 Malleus
Makes sense. I knew it was a litho when I purchased it, and that it wasn't a limited or numbered edition. So, my question was more related to the s/n screenprints. I'm glad to hear it doesn't look like they are straying from the single edition, low print runs. A general observation on Malleus, who I...

Re: Dresden Dolls Winter Tour 07-08 Malleus
I've read on this forum that this poster seems to match up well with the Sonic Youth poster. I like this poster matched up with the MEI 2008 poster, where the maiden on that poster being enticed by the hand of the devil on the right is balance (in a way) if this poster is on the left of that one, in...

Re: Amanda Palmer w/ the Boston Pops Boston 08 Malleus
I forgot to say I purchased the band edition from http://www.jsrdirect.com/bands/amandapalmer They rolled the poster and inserted it in a 3" tube, but the tube was only about 8 inches long so the poster stuck out of both ends. They wrapped both ends with bubble wrap, and placed the strangely rolled ...

Re: Amanda Palmer w/ the Boston Pops Boston 08 Malleus
I've purchased both the band version and artist version of this poster. Not only doe the artist version have the glitter red piano (whereas the band version does not, but the band version (sans glitter) shows the split fountain color change from red toward gold on the piano itself. And, as stated ab...

Re: Brant Bjork Zondag BEL 04 Malleus
I really only asked the folks at Malleus about the 2nd edition because I read about it on this forum. Otherwise, I wouldn't have known until I received the print I bought from their website that the print I had purchased was a 2nd. Most folks show that an item is "edition X" when advertising it for ...
